I did some more troubleshooting and I found a way to make it work. I really do not like changing the core because it make upgrading difficult. Is this a bug in the core or do I have something configured incorrectly.

Thanks,
Ron

Here is the working code.

Public Function GetMappedDirectory(ByVal VirtualDirectory As String) As String
Dim MappedDir As String = Convert.ToString(DataCache.GetCache("DirMap:" + VirtualDirectory))
If MappedDir = "" Then
  If IsNothing(HttpContext.Current) Then
    MappedDir = FileSystemUtils.AddTrailingSlash(System.Web.Hosting.HostingEnvironment.MapPath(VirtualDirectory))
  Else
    MappedDir = FileSystemUtils.AddTrailingSlash(HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath(VirtualDirectory))
  End If
  DataCache.SetCache("DirMap:" + VirtualDirectory, MappedDir)
End If
Return MappedDir
End Function

In my experience nothing fixes this ... period. Manual re-synchs of every portal and host included.

I have a resynch scheduled daily and it succeeds occasionaly and fails often. And I've spent many hours comparing the physical file system, folders, files, names, characters ...

It's better than it was back pre 4.5.3 ... the FK to the folders table on files table helps ... but still seems to be touchy.

Jobs run by the scheduler are not inside context. I will have a look at this, to get it fixed for DNN 4.6.1

We've upgrade to 4.6.2 and still experience the error so doesn't look like it's been fixed yet

Is anyone else experiencing the same?
