Now when  "DotNetNuke Community Edition is excellent for testing, smaller scale, and non-production environments" it would bee nice to know the price for the version I dare to use for customers who likes to run the application in production.

I have asked DNN Corp (via this site) but they have not yet answered me so If someone know I would be happy to know.

Thanks in advance

Jan

Jan,

Please check Navin Nagiah's blog.  There is a retraction of that statement, and an apology for the wording that implies that the Community Edition of DotNetNuke is somehow inferior to the Professional Edition.

The "Community Edition" of DotNetNuke is the version that we've come to know (and sometimes love).  It is quite suitable for production sites.  It should remain that way.  At least that's the way that I interpret things.

Joe, I have read the blog , problem is my customers does not. The blog post is soon forgotten an the release will be left.

But more important is the price. I cant understand Corp not release the price. I asume they like customers to buy. But you never know, maybe they are already overbooked and out of resources.

This is not uncommon at this early stage of a new product release, to initially use a form to gather interest in the paid version.

This is to ensure that "leads" are properly qualified, and to ensure that the price proposed for a product is reasonable for the benefits provided.

It also allows for a managed release and to ensure that the support channels can support the demand as sales build.

I would expect that a price will be announced soon and PE will be made available on the Marketplace.

Maybe its not uncommon but not common. It does not gain the eccosystem to do so. All insecurity will hert any market.

I would love DNN corp do great business and have great sales. But so far I think the marketing strategy is clumsy.
