The true story--

RC1 was released to Open force Euroupe --Market driven

RC2 was released  to Open Force US --- market driven.

5.0.0 was released  as a new year gift as the most tested version in history.

5.0.1 was released  as a non production version. (In my opinion its a beta)

I dont blame anybody but I am concerned how this project will go in the future.

RC2 was a public beta fact. How many times do I have to say this?

Sebastian said this earlier on:

The team realized however, that there are improvements needed to provide a solid version of DNN 5 and therefore we are now heading towards DNN 5.1.0. If you encounter issues while testing DNN 5, please report it to the public issue tracker to help the team to make DNN 5 as rock solid as DNN 4.9.2. Thank you

I agree. I would suggest time posting here is better spent testing if you want DNN5 to be as stable as possible. What we've been doing is looking at forum issues and logging bugs in Gemini as we go along. What amazes me is that often I politely ask a community member to "log a bug" in Gemini,. whereby about 50% of the time it actually happens... and this frankly astounds me!!!

Alex, you dont need to say anything. I think we all know RC2 was a public beta.

Alex, I'm sure that is true. I myself have been avoiding to do this. Usually, I start out with the best intentions. But then, Gemini gets in the way. For example, about 2 minutes ago I clicked on this link (http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=4070&PROJID=29) and I am still waiting for the response. Oh, as I'm writing this, I got "Gemini Application Error" for that link. Well, sadly, it happened more than once. Almost 50% of the time I'm using Gemini I experience really bad response time. Just searching for existing entries (as I'm trying to do my best not to report existing problems) can sometimes take so long, I just give up and return to my day-job. I have been trying to add the skin problem (from another post) three times, and each time I just ran into some silly obstacle (like today's "Gemini Application Error"). Maybe everyone wants to report bugs, but like me they have problems 50% of the time. That would at least explain your observation and even match your 50%.

Mike,

noone has to struggle more with the limitations of Gemini than Alex and he tries whatever he can to get the Sysadmin to upgrade. Unfortunately, our installation has a number of customizations, which makes an upgrade quite difficult.
