Yes, it is your responsibility to maintain your own website. You should never install a module or upgrade of DNN without first testing it. At minimum you should back up everything beforehand so you can restore.

 

Yes, I do maintenance on the web site. However I want a shrink-wrapped solution that just works. I don't have to test SharePoint.

My users are screaming for Joomla. they tell me Joomla works, is easier for users to update and makes better looking web sites.

I just want to be able to install the software, not have users abusing me and to be able to go home at a reasonable hour.

DNN V5 is a disaster. How much effort would it have been to put a warning on the web site?
